Ambassador Iran in Iraqa expressed the hope that negotiations between Tehran and Er-Riyadh in Baghdad on the opening of the embassies of the two countries will lead to positive results, transfers Mehr.
Iran’s Ambassador to Baghdad Iraj Masjidi reported that several rounds of negotiations in Iraq were temporarily suspended between Iran and Saudi Arabia, which were temporarily suspended in connection with the change of administration in Iran.
“During these negotiations, the question was raised about the opening of the embassies of the two countries, which we hope will lead to positive results in the future,” he noted.
According to him, countries in the region should prepare for their obligations to ensure the necessary support for their regional security after the United States depart. “Tehran categorically rejects any US presence in the region, especially in Iraq,” the diplomat noted.
