Iran Denied Statement About Military Potential Of His Nuclear Program

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Aragchi denied the statement of the IRI permanent representation at the UN, regarding the military potential of the country’s nuclear program.

In the statement of Iran’s permanent representation in New York regarding the possibility of negotiations with the United States, it was said that if the purpose of negotiations is to eliminate fears about the possible militarization of Iran’s nuclear program, then such negotiations may be considered. However, if the goal is to eliminate the peaceful nuclear program of Iran, then such negotiations will never take place.

Aragchi, in turn, on his page on the social network X noted that, in contrast to the statement of the Iranian permanent representative office at the UN, the country’s nuclear program does not have a “military potential”.

“Iran’s nuclear energy program has always been exceptionally peaceful, and it will remain such. Therefore, the concept of ‘potential militarization’ simply does not exist. We will not negotiate under pressure and threats. Regardless of what we are talking about, we will not consider it. Negotiations are not the same as intimidation and imposition,” he said.
