Iran refused to meet for negotiations on the payment of reparations for the shotting of the aircraft “International Airlines of Ukraine” in January 2020. This is stated in the statement of the International Group to coordinate the victims of the PS752 flight, published on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
“We, Ministers, representing Canada, Sweden, Ukraine and the United Kingdom, express a deep disappointment by the fact that the Islamic Republic of Iran did not accept our numerous proposals to meet on November 22, 2021 for negotiations on reparations for the restraint of the PS752 flight,” in the statement.
In particular, four countries remind that Iran must fulfill the international legal obligation to reparations to the group of states in full, and re-call for conscientious negotiations and their holding until the end of this year.
“We will continue to be solidarized with families and close victims of the PS752 in their deep loss and suffering. They can be sure that the coordination group will remain united in its goal to attract the Iran to the Islamic Republic to responsibility for this tragedy,” the statement said .
“If Iran continues to avoid negotiations with the group, the coordination group will not have a different choice, except to seriously consider other actions and measures to address this issue within the framework of international law,” is emphasized in the application.
