Iran’s authorities are ready to abandon one of the conditions put forward by them under a nuclear agreement in order to complete the process of coordinating a nuclear transaction with the United States, reports Middle East Eye with reference to its sources.
According to the report, Iry previously demanded the exclusion of the Corps of the Islamic Revolution Guardians from the list of foreign terrorist organizations. Instead of the excluded condition, Tehran calls for Washington to reduce the sanctions pressure on the headquarters of the Hatam Al-Anbia, which is one of the decision-making centers.
According to the sources of Middle East Eye, it is unlikely that the White House administration will support this proposal that could become a compromise in the negotiations.
Also, according to experts, supporters of the tough line of negotiations will not make the Iranian government to make concessions, as this may threaten the authority of the country’s security apparatus.
The nuclear transaction was signed between Iran and the USA in 2015 during the Barack Obama administration to limit the Iranian nuclear program in exchange for mitigating US sanctions. But in 2018, the then US President Donald Trump unilaterally left the transaction and again imposed sanctions. After Joe Biden came to power last year, negotiations began on the resumption of the transaction, but from March we came to a dead end, since Iran demanded that Trump’s decision from April 2019 on the recognition of the CSSIR of a foreign terrorist organization from the White House. The US administration has still rejected this requirement of Iran, calling him “going beyond” the deal.
