President Iran Ebrahim Raisi, as part of his visit to Cuba, met with one of the leaders of the Cuban Revolution Raul Castro.
As reported on the website of the Communist Party of Cuba, Raisi and Castro discussed friendly ties between Iran and Cuba, which have been preserved for more than 40 years.
Castro thanked the President of Iran “for supporting Cuba in the face of unjust US sanctions”, and emphasized that both countries have performed to protect their sovereignty.
The ex-president of Cuba noted the need to strengthen friendship and cooperation between the two countries, and thanked Raisis for a visit.
The meeting was also attended by Iranian Foreign Minister Hussein Amir Abdollahiyan and the head of the Foreign Ministry of Cuba Bruno Rodriguez.
