Iranian Foreign Minister Khosein Amir Abdollahiyan supported the application of the Azerbaijan Republic to enter the organization of economic cooperation D-8 (Islamic Eight), saying that the expansion of D-8 and the accession of new members will serve as an instrument for the implementation of its goals. Iranian Foreign Minister performed in a video conference mode at the 20th meeting of the Council of Ministers D-8, which took place on Wednesday in the capital Bangladesh Dacca.
In his speech, Abdollahiyan said that Iran welcomes the readiness and desire of his friendly neighbor Azerbaijan to join D-8.
“The organization must act quickly in order to accept new members,” he said, calling economic diplomacy and deepening ties with neighboring and Muslim countries two priorities of the foreign policy agenda of Iran.
