UN Security Council resolution 2231, which approved the conclusion of a nuclear transaction with Iran in 2015, does not prohibit Tehran to engage in space research, including to launch satellites, said on Friday, December 31, official representative of Iran Said Hatibzade.
Previously, the representative of the Foreign Ministry of Foreign Ministry condemned the launch of the Iran Space Rocket “Simurg”, which was supposed to deliver three research cargo in orbit. Paris stated that this launch does not comply with UN Security Council resolution 2231, as well as expressed regret that the launch of the satellite did not coincide with the efforts undertaken for progress in the negotiations on the Iranian nuclear program in Vienna.
