The delegation of the Customs Administration of the Islamic Republic of Iran visited Ashgabat on a working visit. This was reported by the International Information Center (MIC) of Turkmenistan with reference to the country’s state customs service.
The purpose of the visit is the implementation of a joint plan for the actions of the customs services of Turkmenistan and Iran at 2025-2026, which was signed on August 28, 2024.
The visit of the Iranian delegation began with a working meeting of the parties, during which the results of cooperation of the customs authorities of the two countries for 2024 were discussed. The issues of interaction at the checkpoints of Khovdan-Bajiran, Artyk-Lotfabad and Sarah-Sarahs were raised.
In addition, the parties discussed the possibilities of increasing cargo flows across the customs borders, in particular, attention was paid to organizing effective customs control and preventing possible offenses against goods, both export and transit.
It also decided to develop cooperation in the field of authorized economic operations, the exchange of information on the identified offenses in order to further prevent them, and the implementation of the participants in the foreign economic activity of both parties about customs rules.
