“1.5 billion cubic meters of gas will be sent from Turkmenistan to Azerbaijan through Iran.” This was stated at the conference as part of the “Baku Energy Week” Minister of Oil Iran Javad Ouji.
According to him, this is implemented on the basis of a tripartite agreement signed between Azerbaijan, Iran and Turkmenistan.
“Iran intends to increase gas supply to Turkey: Iran currently supplies 30 million cubic meters of natural gas daily to Turkey. At the same time, Iran supplies about 60 million cubic meters of gas to Iraq daily,” he said.
Ouji also noted that the sanctions against Iran were ineffective.
“Despite the sanctions, Iran was able to develop its own oil and gas infrastructure. Today, the country transports gas through pipelines to all neighboring countries. We are able to satisfy all the needs of our neighbors in gas, we have the whole infrastructure for this. In general, Iran always has Iran Ready to cooperate with all countries, ”he said.
Note that from January 3, 2022, within the framework of the gas exchange of Turkmenistan, Iran and Azerbaijan, the supply of 4.5 million cubic meters of gas per day began. Iran receives Turkmen gas in the east of the country and supplies it to Azerbaijan in the northeast of Iran.
The gas exchange agreement between Azerbaijan, Iran and Turkmenistan was signed on November 28, 2021 in Ashgabat.
