A group of 227 members of the Iran’s parliament called on the judicial power to bear the death sentences to people arrested during the ongoing anti -government protests, opposition Iranian media write.
In the statement that was read out in the parliament on Sunday, the legislators called the protesters of Mohareb, which literally means “warrior” in Arabic, but in Islamic law or Sharia, this means “enemy of God”, which is punishable by the death penalty. They also compared the protesters with ISIS members who “encroach on the life and property of people.”
The Iranian regime has still been accused of several people of Moharebe, Assembly and Collusion Against National Security and Confrontation with the Islamic Republic for participation in protests.
Having called the current wave of folk protests “riots”, the deputies said that the “US and other enemies” incite violence, organize rallies and provide financial support and weapons to capture protests. They also stated that the “bandits” killed dozens of people and violated the country’s security.
