Iranian President Masud Cyezeshkin announced a serious lack of water in the country and the need to save resources. This was reported by the Iranian President, speaking at the ceremony of signing the investment energy project in Tehran.
As Iranian state television reports, Cyezeshkian attracted attention to the issue of energy supply in the country and power outages that took place several months ago.
Iranian President noted that excessive and unjustified consumption in the energy sector is one of the fundamental problems of society.
“We must solve the problems caused by a deficit and an imbalance in the energy sector by managing and preventing excessive consumption. And we will certainly do this with the cooperation and participation of the people,” he said.
Cyzeshkin also attracted attention to the lack of water in a country caused by drought and excessive consumption.
“At present, we are experiencing a serious water crisis. If we do not use it in the right direction, we will definitely have problems. We need a campaign to implement our plans for optimal water consumption,” he said.
It is reported that water reserves in Iran reservoirs decreased due to the ongoing drought in the country.
Earlier, on March 6, the Tiegran water resource department urged the population to reduce water consumption by 20 percent to avoid water disconnects in the summer months.
