Iranian President Masud Cyezeshkian arrived on an official visit to Russia.
According to Russian media, the plane and President Iran on board landed at Vnukovo-2 Vnukovo Airport at about 10:17 Moscow time
At the exit from the Salekian aircraft, the Russian delegation, headed by the Minister of Energy Sergei Tsivilev, met. It also included the deputy head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Andrei Rudenko and the director of the Department of the State Protocol of the diploma of the diploma of Igor Bogdashev.
Earlier, the Kremlin reported that on January 17, negotiations of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin with the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Masud Cyezeshkian will take place.
It is assumed to discuss the prospects for further expansion of bilateral cooperation, including in the trade, investment, transport, logistics and humanitarian spheres, as well as topical issues of the regional and international agenda.
At the end of negotiations, Vladimir Putin and Masud Cyezeshkin will sign an agreement on a comprehensive strategic partnership between Russia and Iran, as well as make statements for the media.
The upcoming meeting of Putin and Kickyshkin in Moscow will be the third. In October 2024, the presidents of the Russian Federation and Iran had already met on the fields of the International Forum in Ashgabat and at the BRICS summit in Kazan.
Earlier, the Kremlin representative Dmitry Peskov said that Moscow attaches great importance to the signing of the comprehensive strategic partnership between Russia and Iran.
“The agreement will cover the entire complex of multifaceted Russian-Iranian connections: from strengthening cooperation in the military-political and trade and economic dimension to the development of bilateral relations in the scientific, educational and cultural and humanitarian fields,” said Peskov.
The contract will meet the “aspirations of the peoples of the two friendly neighboring states – Russia and Iran, the interaction between which is not directed against someone else’s interests,” he added.
