Russia received weapons from Iraq and ammunition for the war in Ukraine with the help of smugglers from Iran, the British newspaper The Guardian writes.
The publication refers to the unnamed representatives of the Public Mobilization Forces in Iraq and regional intelligence services.
According to him, on March 26, one of the divisions of the folk mobilization forces crossed out of Iraq to Iran hand-held grenades and anti-tank missiles.
“Iran handed over to Russia Bavar 373 Iranian-based Bavar Rocket Complex, and also returned the Russian S-300 Sprink, who previously bought the Tehran from Moscow,” said the source of the newspaper.
These days, according to The Guardian, three cargo vessels capable of transporting military goods crossed the Caspian Sea from the city of Bender Enzeli in Iran to Astrakhan in Russia. One ship went under the flag of Iran, two more – under the flag of Russia.
