Iraq will be able to take advantage of the transport potential of the Zangezur corridor. This was told on the eve of the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Mahmoud Mamedguliyev at the second meeting of the Joint Commission between Azerbaijan and Iraq in Baku.
According to him, the liberation of Azerbaijani territories from the occupation opens up new opportunities in the region.
“Zangezur Corridor will connect East with the West, and Iraq will also be able to use them for freight. I am confident that the Joint Commission will play an important role in expanding cooperation between our countries. Such meetings will contribute to the development of bilateral relations. In addition, I consider it expedient to hold and political consultations between our countries, “said Mamedguliev.
Azerbaijani Deputy Minister stressed that the cooperation protocol is very important for the further development of relations between Azerbaijan and Iraq.
Joint Commission was created in accordance with the “Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the Republic of Iraq about trade and economic, scientific and technical and cultural cooperation”, signed on November 10, 2010 in Baku. The first meeting of the Commission took place on December 4, 2013 in the Azerbaijani capital.
