The oil pipeline for the resumption of oil exports from the Kurdish regional administration of Iraq (Territory) to the Port of Jahan is ready for operation. About this, oil Minister Iraq Khayan Abdulgani informed the Iraqi official agency Ina.
The minister noted that the Iraq authorities hope to resume oil exports within two weeks.
“We are negotiating with the Turkish side on the resumption of exports. This will happen after the approval of the Turkish side is obtained,” the minister said.
According to Abdulgani, the volume determined by the budget law for oil export through the edges is from 300 to 325 thousand barrels per day.
“part of this will be used for domestic consumption, the rest will be exported,” the head of the department added.
Iraq parliament approved the amendments to the budget law setting the cost of transporting oil from the region at $ 16 per barrel.
After the decision of the International Court in Paris regarding the export of oil between Turkey and Iraq, on March 25, 2023, oil supplies from Iraq to the port of Jahan ceased.
, according to estimates, the termination of oil exports to Turkey caused Iraq economic damage in the amount of more than 23 billion dollars.
