Prime Minister of Iraq Muhammad Shia al-Sudani announced the beginning of the implementation of the project “Path of the Porta Fav in Basra. He announced this at a meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Igor Levitin in Baghdad.
The “development path” will connect the country of the Persian Gulf with the Mediterranean coast of Turkey.
The head of government noted that projects are stable in economic terms.
According to him, Iraq authorities strive to ensure the country’s transition to multi -economy, eliminating the dependence on oil exports as the main source of income.
The project “Path” provides for the construction of the road and railway from Iraq to Turkey. Within the framework of the project, it is also planned to build ports and new cities.
Iraq seeks to reduce the route between Asia and Europe through the use of the territory of Turkey and become a transit center thanks to Port Fav.
Port Fav will become the largest in the Middle East, its construction will be completed in 2025. The construction of rail and roads with a length of 1200 kilometers to the Turkish border will cost $ 17 billion.
