The end of the mission of the International Coalition, led by the United States in Iraq, will be announced in the near future. This was stated by Prime Minister Iraq Mohammed Shia al-Sudani.
“Iraq of 2024 is not the same as Iraq of 2014. We defeated the deash thanks to the victims and the position of the Iraqi people. We came to the conclusion that there is no longer any need for a coalition from 86 countries,” the head said Governments in an interview with Bloomberg.
According to him, an agreement was reached regarding the procedure for withdrawing the forces of the coalition from the country.
At the same time, the politician noted that the completion of the mission does not mean “the gap between Iraq and the coalition countries, including the United States.” Al-Sudani added that Baghdad is conducting bilateral negotiations with Washington on the establishment of “stable security ties.”
“We made the transition from the period of wars to the period of stability. Deasha does not pose a threat (Iraqi) to the state,” the Prime Minister emphasized.
