Iraqi Turkmen Front Wants Tall Afar And Ace-Khurmat To Become Provinces

The head of the Iraqi Turkmen Front, Muhammad Seman Agaoglu, called on the Baghdad administration to convert the Tall-Afar regions in Mosul and the Ace-Khurmat in Salah Ed-Din, where the Turkmen population lives compactly in the province. This is stated by a written statement by the press service of the Iraqi Turkmen Front.

Agaoglu drew attention to the fact that the Iraqi government is taking steps to decentralize management and expand the powers of the provinces, as well as to transform the halabja area into the province.

“We, like the Iraqi Turkmen Front, emphasize the need to accept similar steps that reflect justice and equality between all layers of the Iraqi people. Based on the principle of equal opportunities enshrined in the Iraq constitution, we ask the Iraqi government to transform the Tall-Afar and Tuz-Khurmata to new provinces, as in the case of with Halabjoy “, – follows from the message.

“We believe that these requirements are justified, given the victims of the Turkmen in the fight against terrorism and their struggle against the isolation policy that they have been subjected to many years,” Agaoglu said.

The head of the Iraqi Turkmen Front also turned to the political parties of Iraq and their representatives in parliament with a request to support his proposals.

On the eve of the Iraqi parliament, he decided to transform the halabja region into the province, and also included on his agenda a proposal to provide the Tall Afar of the same status.
