Israel and Egypt on Sunday, November 7, signed an amendment to the safety agreement between countries, allowing official Cairo to increase the presence of its armed forces in the Rafach area in the Gaza Strip, report media.
Agreement was signed during a meeting of high-ranking military delegations of Israel and Egypt in Sharm el-Sheikh. Rafah is the only transition between Egypt and the Gaza Strip.
It is noteworthy that the meeting took place two months after the negotiations of Israel’s Prime Minister Naftali Bennett and President of Egypt Abdel-Fattach El Sisi. During this meeting, when the Israel Prime Minister visited Egypt for the first time in more than ten years, the leaders of the two countries discussed common security issues.
