A whole chicken egg about 1 thousand years ago was found during the excavations in the Israeli city of Yavne south of Tel Aviv, RIA Novosti reports with reference to the management of the antiquities of Israel.
“Fragments of the egg shell also found earlier, for example, in Grada David, in Caisaria and Apollonia, but due to the fragility of the egg shell almost no whole chicken eggs were almost preserved. Even at the global level, this is an extremely rare find,” said Dr. Lee Perry-Gal.
According to the archaeologist Alla Nagorny, the egg has survived, because it was in a well with unclean.
The management of the antiquities of Israel adds that it is not possible to find out how the egg turned out to be in the well. At the same time, three bones of the Islamic dolls were also found in the well, which used as toys about 1 thousand years ago.
