President of Israel Reuven Rivlin instructed the leader of the Lickuda party, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to form the government on the results of the early parliamentary elections held on March 23, transmit Israeli media.
At a press conference in his office in West Jerusalem, Rivlin said that no candidate had gained enough votes to form the government, but Netanyahu had a chance, though small.
He stressed that 52 of 120 Parliament deputies were supported by Netanyahu candidacy.
On the eve, Rivlin met with representatives of 13 parties entering the parliament to determine the likely candidate for the formation of a coalition government in accordance with the law.
