investment in artificial intelligence is defined as a strategic goal. This was stated by Deputy Minister of Economics of Azerbaijan Elnur Aliyev, speaking within the eighth Istanbul economic summit.
The eighth Istanbul economic summit, uniting leading business representatives, sector of economics, scientists, high -ranking officials from Turkey and many countries on its site, continues its work.
The main theme of the event this year is “Artificial Intelligence and Economics”. Representatives from more than 20 countries, such as Azerbaijan, USA, Belgium, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), India, Switzerland, Denmark and France, take part in the summit.
The purpose of the summit is comprehensive to consider the influence of artificial intelligence on the economy, as well as the future of sectors such as digital transformation, sustainable development, energy, defense industry, tourism and automotive industry.
Speaking at the summit, Elnur Aliyev spoke about the plans of Azerbaijan in the field of artificial intelligence.
“We defined investment in artificial intelligence as a strategic goal. Thanks to artificial intelligence, we aiming to get $ 40 billion by 2040. This corresponds to $ 2.5 billion a year. Artificial intelligence will increase our performance and maintain the stability of our labor,” he said.
Aliyev also reported support to 600 companies in the field of artificial intelligence in Azerbaijan and the continuation of such initiatives.
At the same time, the deputy minister noted the importance of global cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence and proposed to study this possibility.
“We must expand our cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence. I invite you to study this opportunity together,” he said.
In turn, Deputy Minister of Economics, Culture and Innovation of Albania Bletan Rama said that relations between Turkey and Albania have very deep connections.
“We are here in order to build a substantial dialogue and an opportunity for cooperation,” she said.
According to the deputy minister, Albania and Türkiye adhere to a general approach in terms of commitment to sustainable development goals in the region.
Rama also spoke about the possible prospects for cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence.
“We will continue our investments in this area. Artificial intelligence offers great opportunities to accelerate the provision of public services and increase transparency,” she said.
