Ramazan, like every year, in Istanbul, was completed by preparations for the Holy month, also called “Sultan 11 months.”
In the mosques of the ancient city, large -scale cleaning and improvement work was carried out to ensure unhindered departure of religious rites.
Istanbul mosque, including the Ayia-Sofia mosque, as well as the Atashekhir Mimar Mimar Mosque, Ayuup Sultan, Suleimania, New Emineni and Usküdar Valide-I-Jedid, decorated with traditional luminous garlands-Mahya. This tradition has 450 years and rises its roots of the Ottoman period.
In the famous Sultanan Mosque, for the first time in history, Taravikh-Namaz with the full reading of the Qur’an (Haty) will be held.
In 323 mosques of the city on certain days of Ramazan, rituals of Sakal al-Sharif will be held. Having visited these mosques, the believers will have the opportunity to see Sakal al -Sharif – the hair of the beard of the Prophet Muhammad.
During the period of Ramazan, 126 mosques of the city will be around the clock and seven days a week are open for worship.
