Italian government released a resolution prohibiting cruise liners and container workers to pass through the historic center of Venice, reports Sky News.
Enter these measures The Government of Italy forced the need to preserve local species and nature from destruction. Instead of the Venice Center, Lainera and Container Services are invited to stop in a non-built terminal outside the historic center.
“Everyone who visited Venice in recent years was shocked by seeing these ships hundreds of meters long and a height with residential buildings passing through such vulnerable places,” said ITALY CULTURE Minister Dario Franni.
While the terminal capable of receiving vessels with displacement of more than 40,000 tons, not built, liners and container shipments will dwell in the neighboring industrial port of Margera.
