A group of researchers from Japan and Great Britain will begin the joint development of a new type of high -temperature gas reactor of a new type, the commissioning of which is planned at the beginning of the next decade, said Yomiuri.
High -temperature gas reactors have more stability in comparison with previous analogues, water is not required to cool them.
However, they need special fuel, the development of which will be entrusted to the Japanese side.
The knowledge gained during the research will subsequently be used in Japan when creating their own reactors of a new type.
