In Japan, there was a disease caused by a previously unknown infection. The new virus called “Jeso”, which experts could identify are transmitted through tick bites, writes the Nature Communications edition.
In 2014, in Japan, the first cases of infection with an unknown pathogen were recorded. Until 2020, seven patients were recorded with similar symptoms. The course of the disease was characterized by fever, and in the blood of patients the number of leukocytes and platelets decreased.
In 2019, two patients turned to the hospital on the island of Hokkaido, whose fever after the tick bite. Blood test showed that busting people were infected with an unknown virus. After that, scientists have transferred patient blood samples who treated similar symptoms since 2014. Researchers discovered seven cases of infection “Jeso”.
