The Government of Japan has changed the plan for the development strategy of international cooperation and foreign infrastructure projects, excluding Russia from it.
According to Kyodo, the decision concerns the “plan from eight points” of Russian-Japanese economic cooperation, developed under the former prime minister of Shinzo Abe and first voiced at a bilateral summit in May 2016.
The document provided for the participation of Japanese companies in equipping airports and seaports in the Far East, cooperation in oil and gas spheres, as well as Japan’s participation in projects to support health, education, tourism and humanitarian exchanges.
Last year, it was said about cooperation in the creation of the urban environment, transport, medicine, energy.
It is noted that the decision of the Japanese authorities indicates freezing cooperation with Russia in connection with the situation in Ukraine.
