On the night of February 25 to February 26, 1992, Khojaly became the place of the largest crime in the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan, said the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Jajun Bayramov during a speech dedicated to the 31st anniversary of the Hodzhalin genocide.
As Bayramov noted, the Khojalin genocide is an integral part of the systematic policy of Armenia on ethnic cleaning:
“On the night of February 25 to February 26, 1992, Khojaly became a place of crime of the largest crime in the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan. The Armed Forces of Armenia with the direct participation of the 366th motorized rifle regiment of the former USSR began an attack on Khojaly. As a result of this attack. 613 civilians were killed, including 63 children, 106 women, 70 old people, 487 people became cripples. People burned alive, cut their heads and limbs, pulled their skin. About 1000 people were injured, 1275 were captured, 8 families were completely destroyed. 25 children lost both parents, and 130 children lost one of their parents. Today, 150 residents of Khojala are missing. This massacre of civilians in Khojaly has not been a single or random act, this was part of the systematic policy of Armenia. This policy is based on racial superiority, ethnic differences and hatred, ”the minister said.
