On Friday, May 20, as part of the 132nd meeting of the Committee of the Council of Europe in Turin, Minister of Foreign Affairs Jaykhun Bayramov met with the North Macedonia Foreign Minister Budzhar Osmani, Haqqin.az in the department.
The meeting expressed satisfaction with the level of existing relations between the two countries, as well as the continuation of the dialogue, based on the mechanism of political consultations in the direction of the further development of relations. The meeting noted the presence of a wide potential for the development of economic ties between Azerbaijan and North Macedonia and the importance of its use.
Having informed his colleague about the last situation in the region, Minister Bayramov spoke about the difficult consequences of an aggressive policy pursued by Armenia against Azerbaijan for about 30 years, as well as a new situation in the region after the Second Karabakh war.
The meeting emphasized the special importance of Azerbaijan’s hydrocarbon resources for Europe in terms of diversification of energy resources and energy security.
The parties agreed to conduct mutual visits for the further development of relations between the two countries.
