Among the stars of world gymnastics invited to participate in the gala concert in Sheki on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the restructuring of the Azerbaijan gymnastics Federation, the sisters of Jessica and Jennifer Gadirovs aroused special interest.
Azerbaijani, born in Ireland and playing for the UK, have already achieved great success in sports gymnastics. Jessica is a 2-time European champion, the world champion and the winner of the Olympics in Tokyo in team competitions. Jennifer is the bronze medalist of the Olympics and the silver medalist of the World and European Championship in team exercises.
18-year-old gymnasts, whose parents moved from Baku to the UK in 2001, came to Azerbaijan for the first time in their life!
“This is our first visit to the historical homeland,” says Jessica Gadirova. “Azerbaijan is a very beautiful country. I am very happy here. At the recent World Championship in Liverpool, Jessica Gadirova won gold in free exercises, took silver in the team championship and bronze in the all -around. Jennifer became a silver medalist in the team.
