On Saturday, November 6, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov received the Deputy Assistant US Secretary of State for the Caucasus Affairs, Regional Conflict and Southern Europe Eric Olson. This was reported by HAQQIN.AZ in the department.
During the meeting, Jayun Bayramov noted that Olson’s visit to Azerbaijan is important from the point of view of discussing the prospects for the development of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and the United States, as well as the current situation in the region.
According to him, there is a long-standing and successful partnership between our countries.
In turn, Deputy Assistant US Secretary of State in the Caucasus Erica Olson stated that during her visit a very productive meeting with the President of Azerbaijan took place.
She also highly appreciated Azerbaijan’s support in security issues in Afghanistan as part of the NATO peacekeeping mission.
The parties exchanged views on the current situation in the region in the post-war period. The Minister informed Olson about the steps taken by Azerbaijan unilaterally for the implementation of tripartite statements.
