Wednesday, November 10, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with UNESCO CEO Azul.
Foreign Minister congratulated Azul with re-election to the post of general director of the organization, noting that Azerbaijan is interested in effective and comprehensive cooperation with UNESCO, as well as in the further development of bilateral relations.
The meeting was raised by the topic of cooperation in the field of culture, education, social and humanities, and it was noted that Azerbaijan will continue his efforts to promote the highest goals of the organization.
Jeyhun Bayramov thanked the Director-General for the coordination of the event at the UNESCO headquarters dedicated to the 880th anniversary of the great Azerbaijani thinker and poet Nizami.
In turn, Azul stressed the contribution of Azerbaijan into promoting intercultural and interreligious dialogue, tolerance and multiculturalism in the framework of the World Forum of the Intercultural Dialogue, known as the Baku Process, the initiated by President Ilham Aliyev in 2008.
General Director of UNESCO also thanked Azerbaijan for the continued support of the organization and expressed interest in further expansion of ties.
