In the Jordanian city of Akaba, a meeting of the heads of the Foreign Ministry with the participation of Turkish Minister Hakan Fidan began, in which it is planned to discuss the situation in Syria.
In the meeting organized by the administration of Aman, the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Jordan, Turkey, the USA, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Lebanon, Egypt, as well as representatives of the EU and the UN, take part.
It is expected that a joint press conference will take place following the negotiations.
This meeting with the participation of foreign representatives is the first after the overthrow of the Assad regime in Syria.
Foreign Ministers of the Member States of the Arab Committee of Syria, formed by the decision of the League of the Arab states at the initiative of Jordan, which includes Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Lebanon, Egypt and Secretary General of the League of the Arab states, as well as the Foreign Minister of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Bahrain and Qatar held a regional meeting in Akaba on December 12.
