Jupiter’s satellite Europe produces oxygen, one million people on the breath of one million people. This was reported by the US National Directorate for Aeronautics and Space Research (NASA).
According to NASA, scientists studied oxygen production on the satellite of Jupiter as part of the Juno mission.
Researchers note that contrary to the fact that oxygen production in Europe decreased compared to previous studies, but its volume is enough for breathing 1 million people during the day.
The Jovian Auroral Distributions Experiment (JADE) device on board the Juno probe (Juno) was able to collect data on the charged particles of the satellite when span at an altitude of 354 km over Europe on September 29, 2022. The analysis revealed oxygen production in the amount of 12 kilograms per second, which is below the previous assessments that are more than 1000 tons, but one million people are enough for breathing during the day.
According to astrobiologists, part of the produced oxygen can mix with the ocean under the ice, creating an environment that supports biological life.
Juno Sound, which NASA launched into space in 2011, continues research in the orbit of the planet since its arrival with Jupiter in July 2016.
