In one of the largest employers in the country’s financial sector – Kapital Bank – today about 4,000 people work. The bank constantly implements various new programs and projects to promote the development of its employees, improving the conditions of their labor. Starting from 2020 due to a pandemic in Azerbaijan, as well as around the world, the format of remote work began to be widely distributed. It did not stay away from this trend and Kapital Bank.
The relevant structures of the bank was promptly developed and in the shortest possible time the plan for the transition to the remote mode of operation was implemented. As a result of this step aimed at protecting and maintaining the health of employees, 80% of the staff of the Kapital Bank’s head office moved to a distance, and employees of the branches worked sewn: 50% of the state went to work.
After a certain time, an analysis of the effectiveness of remote operation was carried out. From the results it became clear that the removal has enough benefits. Kapital bank began to think about the long-term work of such a work format and began to take steps in this direction. To such traditional concepts as a workplace and working time in the bank now relate completely differently. Employees of the head office are offered a hybrid model. Given the functions and duties, employees by agreement with the direct supervisor can work in a mixed mode: on certain days of the week from the office, and on certain days – remotely. No changes in labor rights, contracts, employee wages have not happened.
The development of personnel is one of the main priorities of Kapital Bank. The bank used a more systematic approach to this issue, in 2018 the Academy of Human Capital was created. The establishment of the Academy and its active activities emphasize the importance of the sustainable development of employees for the bank, demonstrating that Kapital Bank is a constantly developing and “educational” bank.
For more than a year, Kapital Bank has been actively using the global online-learning platform ISPring Learn. Numerous textbooks, video training and online courses have been added to the platform. By 2021, the Bank’s employees through ISPring Learn passed more than 18,000 courses and trainings. The platform is completely translated into Azerbaijani, which provides convenient navigation for users. Living trainings are organized for bank employees. Own personnel and attracted specialists both for new and more experienced employees are conducted by seminars on “banking”, “leadership and management”, “Agile approaches”, “date-analytics”, “behavior” and other topics.
