Cooperation between Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan is developing successfully. This was stated by the President of Kazakhstan Kasym-Zhomart Tokaev during an informal meeting with the chairman of the Hulk Maslahata (People’s Council) of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov in Turkestan.
According to the press service of the Kazakh leader, Tokaev thanked Berdimuhamedov for visiting Turkestan – the spiritual capital of Kazakhstan, a city of sacred importance for all Turkic peoples.
“It is gratifying that cooperation between our states is being successfully developing. The plans are strategically important projects in the gas industry, as well as the transport and logistics sector. We keep this work under control, since its results depend on its results, the further high -quality development of economic cooperation between our countries,” said the president.
Kasym-Zhomart Tokaev congratulated the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on the beginning of the international year of peace and trust, emphasizing that this initiative, supported by the UN, testifies to the high international reputation of Turkmenistan.
Chairman Hulk Maslahata, in turn, expressed gratitude for the hospitality and called Kazakhstan “one of the main strategic partners of Turkmenistan.”
“Our bilateral relations in the political, economic, economic and cultural and humanitarian spheres have good prospects. We are grateful to you for supporting the initiative of Turkmenistan as part of the UN about the proclamation of the International Year and Trust,” said Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov.
During the meeting, the prospects of further strengthening the multifaceted strategic partnership over the entire spectrum of bilateral relations were discussed.
Interlocutors emphasized the need to search for new points of growth and take systematic measures to increase trade up to $ 1 billion in the coming years.
Particular attention was paid to the expansion of partnership in the gas industry, in particular, to the participation of Kazakhstan in the project of the development of the Ghalkynysh field together with foreign partners.
Kasim -Zhomart Tokaev noted the significant potential of the project for the construction of the Turgundy -Herat -Kandahar – Spin -Buldak railway project, the successful implementation of which will ensure the diversification of transport routes and expand export markets. According to him, a key role in the development of transit potential in the direction of the North – South is also played by the Railway Kazakhstan – Turkmenistan – Iran and the Turkmenbashi -Garabaiz – border of Kazakhstan.
In addition, the meeting participants considered the issues of cooperation in the fields of education and digitalization. The Kazakhstan side expressed its readiness to provide comprehensive assistance to Turkmenistan in the digitalization of public services, as well as in advanced training of IT specialists.
