Kazakhstan remains a leading direction for foreign direct investment in Central Asia. This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Murat Nurtleu, who arrived at the state of Kuwait to participate in the 3rd ministerial meeting of the Central Asia-the Cooperation Council of the Arab Gulf states.
According to the press service of the Kazakhstan Foreign Ministry, as part of the visit, the Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan held meetings with the Director General of the Kuwaiti Arab Economic Development Fund (KFAED) Walid al-Bakharm and Deputy General Director of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) Kuwait Imad al-E-Estem.
with the head of the KFAED discussed the prospects for expanding interaction in the field of sustainable development, financing infrastructure and socially significant projects in Kazakhstan. Particular attention was paid to the possibilities of attracting funds of the fund to projects in the field of energy, water supply and agriculture.
with the leadership of CCI Kuwait, an exchange of views on the intensification of bilateral trade, stimulating business activity and creating favorable conditions for contacts between business circles of the two countries took place. The possibilities of strengthening cooperation in such industries as an agro-industrial complex, the processing of raw materials and the transport and logistics sphere were considered.
The Kazakh Minister told the interlocutors about the country’s investment potential in detail, about the government’s measures to improve the investment climate and invited Kuwaiti investors to implement a number of large projects in the country.
“Kazakhstan remains a leading direction for direct foreign investment in Central Asia. We are ready to provide comprehensive support to Kuwaiti investors interested in implementing joint projects,” Nurtleu said.
The Kuwaiti side expressed interest in the exchange of business divers to study potential investment projects.
