Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Murat Nurtleu made an official visit to the Great Duchy of Luxembourg.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, during the visit the head of the Kazakhstan Foreign Department met with the Prime Minister of Luxembourg Luc Frieden and Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of Luxembourg Xavier Bettel.
The parties discussed the main issues of bilateral cooperation, as well as promising areas, such as financial technologies, sustainable development through “green” energy, pharmaceuticals and transport infrastructure projects. The need to deepen economic relations and the expansion of opportunities for the business community of both countries is confirmed.
It is noted that the Prime Minister Luke Frieden indicated that “Luxembourg considers Kazakhstan as a reliable partner in Central Asia, given the significant potential of business cooperation”, and also expressed his readiness to support the Kazakhstan side in the desire to modernize the key sectors of the economy and introduce advanced technologies .
In turn, the Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan emphasized that Luxembourg is an important partner of Kazakhstan in the European Union.
The parties also paid attention to the interaction of Kazakhstan and the European Union, focusing on the expansion of trade and economic ties, as well as on cooperation in safety and stability in Central Asia. Along with this, an exchange of views on topical issues of an international agenda took place.
In turn, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Luxembourg Bettel emphasized that his country will highly value Astana’s efforts in strengthening regional security, the Republic of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
It is noted that both states share close views on global challenges. It is also reported on the readiness of Luxembourg to expand cooperation with Kazakhstan in issues of international security and sustainable development.
At the end of the meetings, the parties confirmed their intention to strengthen bilateral relations at all levels and actively interact within the framework of international organizations to solve key regional and global challenges.
Since 2005, direct investment from Luxembourg in the Kazakhstan economy amounted to $ 2.9 billion.
