Kazakhstan and Russia plan to develop a new five -year program aimed at preserving the ecosystem of the Basinum River Basin (Urals). This is stated in the message of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Kazakhstan.
According to the Kazakhstani department, the fourth meeting of the Kazakh-Russian Commission for the preservation of the ecosystem of the Bask border River Zhayyk (Urals), created in accordance with the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Russian Federation of October 4, 2016, was held in the video conference format. /p>
The parties heard and accepted information on the execution of the Kazakh-Russian cooperation program to preserve and restore the ecosystem of the Basin River of Zhayyk (Urals) for 2021-2024.
In particular, the Kazakhstan side informed the Russian side about the work on the research work, which is planned to be completed in 2025, the reconstruction of channels and nibblers, coastal, dredging, treatment of the pool of the river of the Golodnoye and carp species of fish, forestry, liquidation of unauthorized landfills and other events.
The Russian side, in turn, informed about the completion of research work, construction and reconstruction of treatment facilities, clearing rivers, ponds and reservoirs, eliminating unauthorized landfills, burdening water bodies, conducting environmental shares with the involvement of volunteers.
In addition, the question of the results of monitoring the quality of the waters of the Zhayyk River (Ural) basin (Ural) on cross -border stems of the territories of Kazakhstan and Russia were considered. The parties emphasized that water monitoring measures are carried out by each party in accordance with the monitoring program for cross-border water objects of the Zhayyk (Ural) river basin at 2021-2025 in full.
The parties informed each other about the work done to preserve and restore floodplain forests in the Zhayyk (Ural) River basin and the preservation and reproduction of sturgeon in the Zhayyk River (Ural).
The Russian side proposed in 2025 a joint environmental event as part of the Kazakh -Russian action “Zhayyka Basin (Urals) – clean shores and good neighborliness.” The Kazakhstan side supported this proposal.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue work on the issue of preserving the ecosystem of the Basin River of Zhayyk (Ural) by developing and approving a new program for a five -year period.
