The Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan called the cause of turning off the electricity in three countries of Central Asia an accident in Kazakhstan. Kazakhstan said that the voltage jump in the network was provoked by the “alarm imbalance” in the networks of neighboring countries, RBC reports.
“Electricity interruptions in some regions of Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan are associated with a large accident in Kazakhstan’s power grids. As a result of a major accident in the power grid of the Republic of Kazakhstan, there were interruptions in the power supply of Almaty, Shimkent, Turkestan regions and surrounding areas,” said Message of the Ministry of Energy Uzbekistan.
It is noted that this has led to a sharp change in voltage of 530 electrolyns, which come from Kazakhstan, in the Tashkent and Syrdarya thermal power plants, the means of emergency protection worked, because of which they disconnected.
In Kazakhstan, in turn, they reported that the emergency shutdown of light occurred due to the fault of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan. “Due to the significant emergency imbalance created by the Power System of Central Asia, there was a capacity of power to transit electricity 500 kV” North-East – South of Kazakhstan “,” said Kazakhstan’s Electric Network Management Company.
