Kazakhstan Announced Request From European Consumers To Increase Oil Supplies

In 2023, the transit of Russian gas through Kazakhstan amounted to 1.28 billion cubic meters, in January – August of this year – 3.47 billion cubic meters. This was reported by Kazakhstani media with reference to the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan.

The head of the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan, Almasadam Satkaliev, said that a significant part of the export volumes of Kazakhstani oil is transported by transit through Russia (KTK, Atyrau-Samara and Makhachkala-Novorossiysk pipelines).

At the same time, the Kazakh Minister noted that there is a request from European consumers to increase oil supplies from Kazakhstan.

“It will require both the consent of the Russian side in transit and the consent of our oil and oil companies to supply in this direction,” he said.

Satkaliev also said that Germany sent a request to increase oil supplies from Kazakhstan to 2.5 million tons.

“According to the results of negotiations, the Azerbaijani side expressed their readiness to increase the volume of Kazakhstani oil to 2.2 million tons per year. According to the actual data, 0.9 million tons were transported along this route,” the Minister added the Minister .

, within the framework of the agreements between Kazakhstan, Germany and Russia, the transportation of oil is ensured in the amount of up to 1.2 million tons per year by the Atyrau-Samar oil pipeline through the Friendship system in the direction of the Swedish refinery.

In September of this year, the supply contract was extended until the end of 2025.

In January-September 2024, the volume of exports of Kazakhstani oil to Germany (according to the Atyrau-Samar oil pipeline and further through the Druzhba pipeline) amounted to 1.082 million tons.
