Kazakhstan attracted almost $ 3.7 billion of investment in the “green” energy in the fields of the Climate Summit SOR-29 in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan, the head of the department Almasadam Satkaliev signed a number of documents on cooperation with international companies and development institutions in the field of development of “green” energy.
In particular, the head of the Ministry of Energy concluded a memorandum of mutual understanding between the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan and the Asian Bank for Development (Abr).
The document involves cooperation in achieving the goals of carbon neutrality through the mechanism of energy transition of ABR (MAP), the purpose of which is to accelerate the decommissioning of coal stations and increase the use of renewable energy sources, increase energy efficiency and implement new technologies in the production of electricity and thermal energy.
Among the signed documents is also an agreement with the Government of the People’s Republic of China on the implementation of projects in the field of renewable energy sources, which involves interaction between the parties in the fight against global warming through the promotion, development and implementation of projects in the field of renewable energy sources, and sustainable development in the territory Republics of Kazakhstan, transition to environmentally friendly technologies and reduction of emissions. It is assumed that the amount of investment according to these projects will be more than $ 2 billion.
An agreement on investments on the draft wind station in the Zhambyl region of the Republic of Kazakhstan with Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company PJSC (Masdar) was also concluded. The expected amount of investment on this project will be $ 1.5 billion.
This document is concluded as part of the implementation of the signed intergovernmental agreement with the UAE in order to develop projects of renewable energy sources, the implementation of the “green transition”, reducing the emission of carbon and the fight against climate changes.
In addition, as part of the conference, the Minister of Energy of Kazakhstan held a series of meetings with representatives of the UN UN, ACWA Power and Masdar, Abr.
During the conversations, Satkaliev expressed the intention to continue cooperation as part of new initiatives in the energy sector.
“Kazakhstan actively updates the legislative framework to increase the investment attractiveness of the renewal sector. Our country is always open and ready for active cooperation,” the minister emphasized.
