Kazakhstan began shipment of raw oil from Turkish port Jaykhan to Romania

Kazmunaygaz (KMG) JSC began the shipment of Kazakhstani oil from the Jahan port in the direction of Romania, the company’s press service reports on Saturday.

According to her information, the head of the KMG Magzum Mirzagaliev visited the Turkish port Jaykhan and got acquainted with the process of shipment of Kazakhstani oil for the Petromidia oil refinery, located in Romania and belonging to KMG.

“Agreements with the Azerbaijani company SOCAR transferred to the plane of practical implementation. This indicates the good prospects of further extension of our cooperation,” Mirzagaliev said during the start ceremony.

He thanked the management of the company Tengizhevroil for the successfully conducted series of negotiations on the terms of transportation on the Baku -Tbilisi -Jahan oil pipeline.

The first batch of oil with a volume of 80 thousand tons from the terminal Jahan transports the domestic tanker Alatau, belonging to the NMSK Kazmortransflot LLP, which will follow in the direction of the Romanian port of Constanta with unloading for the Petromidia refinery.

A five -year agreement on the transit of oil on the Aktau -Baku -Jaykhan route in an annual volume of 1.5 million tons is signed between KMG and Azerbaijani SOCAR at the end of last year. In March of this year, the shipment of Kazakhstani oil in the direction of Aktau – Baku began. In transportation, the Kazakhstani and Azerbaijani fleet on a parity basis are involved. As of April 20, 86 thousand tons were shipped from the Aktau port.
