Kazakhstan: frozen gas prices

The Government of Kazakhstan will record gas prices until January 1, 2024. The Prime Minister Alikhan Smiliov said this on an expanded meeting of the government, KazTag reports.

“The domestic market will be provided with liquefied petroleum gas in the amount of 150 thousand tons. The prices of raw and commercial gas will be recorded until January 1, 2024 at the level of December last year,” said Smilov.

Rising prices for liquefied gas in early January has become a reason for mass protests in Kazakhstan. From the new year, the cost of liquefied gas has grown from 60 to 120 tenge per liter. Protests soon turned into riots.
