Kazakhstan Implements Large -scale Infrastructure Projects On Caspian Coast

President of Kazakhstan Kasym -Zhomart Tokaev, as part of a visit to the Mangistau region, was visited by the Aktau International Sea Port – the country’s key logistics hub, which plays an important role in the development of the transit potential of Kazakhstan.

According to the press service of the Kazakh leader, the president was reported on the prospects for the development of transport and logistics infrastructure of the Mangistau region, including plans for the modernization of port capacities and the expansion of the country’s transit potential.

In particular, the Minister of Transport of Kazakhstan Marat Karabaev said that 24 infrastructure projects are being implemented in the region totaling 1.9 trillion tenge. In 2024, the volume of cargo transportation along the Trans -Caspian International Transport Route increased by 62% and reached 4.5 million tons. In this direction, 358 container trains and 27 thousand units of vehicles were transported, while the volume of exports amounted to 3.2 million tons. By 2028, this indicator is planned to be brought to 10 million tons, ”he said.

In addition, according to him, the construction of a container hub is under construction, which will increase the throughput of the port of the city from 140 thousand to 240 thousand DFE, and the construction of a new airport has begun in the resort zone of Kenderly, the bandwidth of which will be 150 passengers per hour. It is also planned to launch regular flights connecting Kenderli from Almaty and Astana.

The implementation of large -scale road projects is provided – the Center – West and Beineu – Saxaulsky, the launch of which will optimize logistics in key directions and reduce the cost of transporting transit and export goods. In particular, the distance from Astana to Aktau will decrease by 800 km, from Horgos to Aktau – by 900 km, ”the minister said.

The head of the Kazakh state, in turn, instructed to accelerate the construction of the airport in the resort zone of Kenderli.

He emphasized that the Mangistau region has high potential for Kazakhstan to turn into the transport and logistics hub of Eurasia. The implementation of this task is of strategic importance, ”said the president.
