Tourism in Kazakhstan has recovered. This was stated by the Minister of Culture and Sports of the Republic Askhat Oralov at a government meeting, the Kazinform agency reports.
“The World Tourist Organization (Unwto) predicted the restoration of tourism no earlier than 2024. Despite the serious consequences of the pandemic, according to the results of last year, tourism in Kazakhstan has recovered,” Oralov said.

According to the minister, the number of Kazakhstani tourists increased by 25 percent and reached 8.6 million people, which is almost 2 million people higher than the dopandemic level.
“last year, Kazakhstan attracted about 1 million foreign tourists, and this year it is expected that this figure will increase to 1.4 million people. This indicates the growing interest of foreign guests in Kazakhstan as a tourist direction,” Askhat added Oralov.
