Kazakhstan: interest in teaching in their native language is growing

In Kazakhstan, the number of children who prefer training in the state language is growing. In the republic on August 1, the campaign has ended to enroll children in grade 1.

According to the Ministry of Education of Kazakhstan, 339,880 children were credited to the first grade this year. “70.7 percent of children chose training in the state language,” the department noted.

The country also has schools with training in Russian. In recent years, families prefer to give their children to schools with training in Kazakh.

About 70 percent of more than 400 thousand children entered the first grade in Kazakhstan last year, preferred schools in the state language.
