Kazakhstan noted importance of meeting “Central Asia – Italy”

The meeting in Rome is very timely and makes it possible to discuss practical steps and determine the new spheres of Italy cooperation with the countries of the Central Asian region. This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister -Chair of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Murat Nurtleu at the third ministerial conference “Central Asia -Italy” held in Rome.

Nurtleu noted that today Central Asia is a dynamically developing region with its own vision of geopolitical realities and wide trade and economic capabilities.

“Advisory meetings of the heads of the state of Central Asia, the International Fund for Aral Salvation and the Zone free of nuclear weapons are a vivid demonstration of the unambiguous desire of Central Asia to develop effective and mutually beneficial cooperation and confront general challenges,” Nurtleu said, whose words are quoted by the foreign policy department of Kazakhstan.

The reports of the conference were also made by the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, as well as the special representative of the EU for Central Asia Teri Khakal.

During the event, the parties discussed topical issues of the regional agenda, interaction in the fight against terrorism and drug trafficking, the areas of transport, logistics and green energy.

In addition, on the initiative of the Kazakhstan side, within the framework of the III ministerial conference “Central Asia – Italy” in Rome, consultations of the heads of foreign policy departments of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the issues of interaction as part of the format of advisory meetings of the heads of state of Central Asia. The interlocutors noted the importance of further expansion of comprehensive cooperation in political, trade, economic, investment, transit and transport and cultural and humanitarian spheres in the spirit of friendship, good neighborliness and strategic partnership.

The Foreign Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nurtleu emphasized that such events have become an important factor in international policy, allowing a trusting manner to determine the further vector of the region’s development.

The ministers “checked the clock” on topical issues of the regional and international agenda, representing mutual interest. The parties also discussed the prospects of interaction within the framework of multilateral structures and formats of CRU+.
