Kazakhstan Ratified Agreement With UN On Asia-Pacific Ministerial Conference

Kazakhstan President Kasim-Zhomart Tokayev signed the Law “On Ratification of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the UN on the organization of the Asia-Pacific Ministry of Employment on Digital Inclusion and Transformation, Zakon.kz reports.

The agreement establishes the terms and place of the conference, which should take place in the city of Astana from September 3 to 5, 2024.

The planned socio-economic effect of the implementation of the agreement: to demonstrate a number of Kazakhstan IT solutions to international participants; increase the investment attractiveness of the country, as well as the export potential of Kazakhstan; ensure the development of regional digital cooperation.

The agreement provides for the participation of the following representatives or observers: members and associated members of Escato; other states; organizations that have received permanent invitations from the UN General Assembly to participate in conferences as observers; specialized and related institutions of the UN; other intergovernmental organizations; UN intergovernmental bodies; non -governmental organizations; UN Secretariat officials; other persons invited by the UN.

At the same time, a special procedure for issuing visas is established. All persons indicated above will have the right to unhindered entry and departure from Kazakhstan. Visas and permits for entry, if necessary, are issued for free, as soon as possible and no later than two weeks before the date of opening the conference.

In relation to the conference, the Convention on the privileges and immunity of the UN, adopted by the General Assembly on February 13, 1946, which is the participant of which is Kazakhstan.
