Kazakhstan: Rumors About Ratification Of Roman Statute Of Mus Were Refuted

The General Prosecutor’s Office of Kazakhstan denied information on the ratification of the Roman Statute of the International Criminal Court (MUS).

“The Prosecutor General of the Republic of Kazakhstan is not on ratification of the aforementioned international document,” the department said in response to the official request of Kazinform.

Roman Statute is an international agreement that is the basis of the activities of the International Criminal Court.

International Criminal Court is the first permanent international criminal justice body, whose competence includes the persecution of persons responsible for genocide, war crimes, crimes against humanity, as well as crimes of aggression. The court was established on the basis of the Roman Statute, adopted on July 17, 1998, officially the court began its work on July 1, 2002, after the Roman Statute came into force.
